There is no support desk here and no ticket queue — just an inbox that gets read. If you have a question, a correction, or a suggestion for something to cover, send it and you will get a reply from a person.

Email

hello@yoyoknows.com

That address reaches Bill Whyte directly. Replies usually take a day or two; occasionally longer if something in the day job has caught fire.

What is worth writing about

Corrections and out-of-date steps. This is the most useful thing you can send. Home Assistant and the wider smart home ecosystem change fast, and a guide that worked last year may have drifted. Tell me which article and which step, and I will test it and update the page.

“I’m stuck at step 4.” If a guide left you stranded, that is a problem with the guide. Say where you got to and what happened instead of what the article promised. These messages tend to turn into better articles.

Article requests. If you have been searching for how to do something and finding nothing useful, that is a gap worth knowing about. Suggestions get added to the list; no promises on timing.

Privacy and data requests. Anything covered by the privacy policy — access, correction or deletion of data we hold — goes to privacy@yoyoknows.com. Say what you want and it will be handled.

Getting the details in. For anything technical, the reply is faster if you include what hardware you are running, which versions, and the exact error text. “It doesn’t work” costs us both a round trip.

What this inbox is not

It is not a free help desk for your whole setup. Questions tied to something published here are fair game and genuinely welcome. A request to diagnose an entire home network from scratch is a different thing — that is professional work, and this inbox is not where it gets done.

It is not a route to a guest post. Unsolicited guest articles, link insertions, “we noticed a broken link on your site” outreach and paid-placement offers are deleted unread. Please do not spend your time on it.

It is not where you pitch products for review. If you genuinely think something fits the site, one short email describing what the device does is fine. Follow-up chasers are not.
